Polish President Andrzej Duda, during a visit to Kyiv on Tuesday, called on the West to change its policy on interaction with Russia and, in particular, to dismantle the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
It is reported by “European Truth” with reference to Rzeczpospolita.
“There is no return to business as usual when it comes to relations with Russia. At a time when Russia is at war against Ukraine, when it attacked Ukraine, when Russia is occupying territories internationally recognized by other countries, this requires a change in Western policy, which will not just stop Nord Stream 2, but get rid of Nord Stream 2,” the President of Poland said.
He emphasized that Ukraine must “return to the situation of Russian invasion” and “all the territories that were occupied by Russia must be liberated.”
Duda’s statement was noted by the Russian ambassador to Poland, Sergei Andreev, who called it “political rhetoric” on Russian propaganda television.
“On the part of the President of Poland, who has no direct relation to Nord Stream 2, he is not authorized to make such decisions, it is rather such a desire. Of course, such a question will depend solely on other authorities in other countries,” the Russian diplomat said. .
As reported, Bundestag Vice Speaker Wolfgang Kubiki spoke in favor of opening the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to fill gas storage facilities for the winter, despite Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
