Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the national telecom operator Kyivstar has paid UAH 3 billion in taxes and fees to the state budget and transferred UAH 33 million to charitable foundations.
This was reported in the press service of the company.
It is noted that Kyivstar directs significant resources to support the defense capability of Ukraine and the implementation of humanitarian projects. In particular, the company transferred more than UAH 33 million for humanitarian needs of the military, hospitals, the elderly and those affected by the war.
The company’s subscribers also joined the charity fundraiser and, with the help of short numbers allocated by the operator and the SMART Groshi service, transferred more than UAH 3.2 million for the humanitarian needs of hospitals and the military.

It is reported that in the first quarter of 2022, the operator invested UAH 659 million in the development of communications. According to the COP, 95% of the base stations of the telecom network operate as usual, providing citizens of Ukraine with mobile communication and Internet services. During the hostilities, the company built more than 100 mobile communication facilities and connected 1,150 bomb shelters to free Internet in different cities of Ukraine.
Kyivstar was informed that during the war, subscribers were provided with free services or special conditions for the operation of services in the amount equivalent to UAH 425 million. In particular, subscribers in the temporarily occupied territories can call network numbers and use Home Internet without payment. And in 16 countries where millions of Ukrainian citizens were forced to leave, subscribers receive communication services at the same tariffs as in Ukraine.
In addition, Kyivstar provides doctors working in risk areas with free mobile communications.
As the largest tax payer in the telecom industry, the operator has transferred to the state more than UAH 3 billion in taxes and fees from February 24 to the present day.
The company also provides its communication channels to the State Emergency Service for promptly informing the population. Since February 24, more than 185 million messages with vital information have been transmitted over the CS network.
