The first thing tourists need is information, Elena Vorotnikova, an expert on the development of tourist areas, believes. This is especially important for those who organize their own vacation without using the services of travel agencies. And there are more and more of them every year. Elena proposes to create a new service for tourists in Russia – “friend for a day”.
“It is necessary to create and unite communities of tour guides and train them according to modern standards,” Vorotnikova told Rossiyskaya Gazeta. “And it is very important to develop the format of individual accompaniment, the so-called “friend for a day.” Krasnoyarsk or Tomsk, to another city in the country, but they have no idea where to go, who can tell some special stories about these streets.”
She also proposes to create spaces with clear navigation, with opportunities for individual tourist walks. “Today, arriving in the city, the tourist is often left alone with himself: no available maps, booklets, no convenient and truly functional applications,” explains Vorotnikova.
