Kyiv does not accept the recommendations of Western partners to Kyiv to start peace negotiations with the Russian Federation and demands the complete de-occupation of Donbass and Crimea.
This is stated in the article by European Pravda “Yalta is close, there will be no negotiations with the Russian Federation” about the Yalta European Strategy forum secretly held in Kyiv.
As the EP found out, during a recent visit to Kyiv, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken brought a message from Joe Biden about the need to start negotiations with Putin.
During the YES forum, several Ukrainian officials publicly dismissed the possibility of such talks, although they did not acknowledge which partner made such recommendations.
“We (during the war) have learned a lot, including learning not to trust any talk about peace that our partners offer us,” Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said in particular.
In addition, Reznikov clarified Ukraine’s position on the conditions for starting negotiations with the Russian Federation, adding that this is a new position. Kyiv will no longer agree with what he himself offered the Russians before.
“I will reveal a secret… (At the talks in Belarus and Istanbul-EP) we told the Russians: in order to continue negotiations and negotiate, you must withdraw the troops as of 23. Then it was possible. But now they have not one point of no return and this option has long been impossible,” he said.
