Google has officially closed its first Google Talk messenger. It was created in 2005 and was considered obsolete and closed by many users. However, the service continued to work, and it will be officially closed only this week.
Recall that Google Talk worked only with third-party services such as Pidgin or Gajim. If someone continues to use Google Talk, Google advises to change it in favor of the newer Google Chat service, and from June 16, Google Talk will show a login error.
As a reminder, Google introduced Google Talk as a chat for Gmail contacts with instant messaging. In 2013, it was replaced by newer services, Hangouts and Google Chat. Hangouts is also currently unused, and Google Chat is a popular service.
