9-year-old Kira Gubina from Chernihiv cut off her hair, which she had never cut, and gave the proceeds of 3.5 thousand hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This is reported by the Public, reports Ukrinform.
The idea to hand over the girl’s hair came when she, along with her parents and three brothers and sisters, hid in a shelter from shelling. The girl says that earlier dad categorically forbade cutting braids: “I saw on the Internet that girls cut their hair under a bob and you can generally get paid for it. I didn’t know this before. I decided to go to the hairdresser, cut my hair, sell it and donate the money to the Armed Forces,” says Kira.
She said that dad was against it, always. He said: “You have gorgeous hair, we will never cut it.” This time, Dad agreed without hesitation.
There are four children in the Gubin family. They moved to Chernigov two years ago. Their house stands on the outskirts of the city, which was shelled by Russian troops from the first days of the war. The house has survived but needs renovation.
“We have friends who serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Now they are near Lugansk, there are about 20 of them. They are now assembling radios and thermal imagers,” the parents say.
And Kira hopes that her example will inspire others.
As reported, 10-year-old Chernivtsi Tatyana lost her long braid in order to transfer the proceeds of 3.1 thousand UAH to help Ukrainian soldiers.
