Media: Twitter cut 80% of employees with the arrival of Elon Musk

After Elon Musk bought Twitter, about 80% of employees left the company. This was reported by the CNBC channel with reference to data from internal Twitter records.

“According to an engineer who has resigned from the company, the loss of employees and downsizing will make it difficult to reliably maintain the service, which continues to create new features,” the publication said.

Currently, the company employs about 1,300 full-time workers. In addition, Musk involved about 130 people from his other companies Tesla, SpaceX and The Boring Co to work on the social network.

As noted in the publication, earlier Twitter had 7.5 thousand specialists.

It will be recalled that businessman Elon Musk recently fired workers from the group of content moderators, as well as the unit that monitors hatred and harassment in the social network. It also created a “tough” work environment for those who remained.
