In the village of Zhelezny Port, Kherson region, a cache with foreign weapons manufactured by NATO was discovered, local law enforcement agencies told Izvestia on Friday, June 17.
They found a Swedish AT4 anti-tank rocket launcher, an American M-49A1 illuminating mine, a hand grenade launcher and an AK-47 Kalashnikov assault rifle. In addition, there was a Turkish Typhoon F-12 semi-automatic rifle, five RGN grenades, six F-1 grenades, and four other types of grenades.
Who owned the weapon is currently being established.
Earlier, on June 11, the National Guard discovered large caches with weapons of Ukrainian militants in the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR). So, in one of the settlements of the LPR, special forces identified five Fagot ATGM missiles, a Ukrainian-made flamethrower and seven starting charges for grenade launchers. In addition, two Kalashnikov assault rifles, 15 grenades, more than 6.5 thousand small arms ammunition, a radio station and a hard drive were found at the abandoned positions of the nationalists.
In another settlement, servicemen of the Russian Guard found nine grenade launchers, 64 shells and 26 grenades in a granary.
On June 9, it was reported that near one of the settlements of the DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic), the National Guard seized a disguised Ukrainian infantry fighting vehicle (BMP).
On June 8, the National Guard destroyed large caches of weapons and ammunition of Ukrainian militants in the Donbass. It was noted that in the settlement of the LPR, the National Guard found five grenade launchers and more than 90 rounds for them, as well as more than 200 grenades of various modifications, including foreign-made ones, a heavy machine gun “Utes” and more than 27 thousand ammunition for small arms of various calibers.
On June 9, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that Kyiv would have enough weapons to fight any army in Europe, but not the Russian one. He added that for this reason, Ukraine needs heavy weapons, and very quickly.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow explained that the tasks of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the implementation of which is necessary to ensure the security of Russia. The decision was made against the backdrop of aggravation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
