The Netflix video streaming service has confirmed the final cessation of work in the territory of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the AFP agency with reference to a service representative on May 30.
A spokesman for the service reportedly said that this was “the implementation of the withdrawal from the Russian market”, which was announced in early March.
According to him, the company was waiting for the end of the payment cycle – until the validity of all prepaid subscriptions previously issued in the Russian Federation expired – for the final blocking of the service in Russia.
Recall that on May 27, Russians could not use Netflix services without connecting to VPN services: applications for smartphones, TVs and computers did not work, and the web version also became unavailable.
