The streaming service Netflix told AFP that it deprived Russian subscribers of access to the platform. This was reported by Barron’s.
A Netflix spokesman confirmed that Russian subscribers had lost access to the Netflix site and programs since May 27. Netflix clarified that it waited for the end of the current billing cycle before disconnecting customers from Russia.
As the company’s spokesman explained, “this is the implementation [of the decision] to leave the Russian market,” announced in March.
It will be recalled that on March 6, the American streaming service Netflix announced that it had suspended its work in Russia. Netflix has also suspended all future projects and content purchases in Russia due to its military invasion of Ukraine. After all, Netflix has removed its application from the App Store and Google Play in Russia.
