Netflix streaming service has officially left Russia. Now Russian subscribers can not use the services of the program. This was reported by Barrons.
“This is the fulfillment of the commitment to care in the Russian market, which was announced in March,” said a Netflix spokesman.
The spokesman said the company was waiting for the end of the current billing cycle before disconnecting customers.
The American platform announced its departure from Russia in early March after carrying out a full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Netflix is the world’s leading streaming platform with 221.8 million subscribers at the end of 2021, but it was a small player in Russia.
In April, the company wrote in a letter to shareholders that it had lost 700,000 paid subscribers as a result of leaving Russia, blaming the departure for the first global drop in subscribers in a decade.
