Palestinian teenager killed in clashes with Israeli army

As a result of clashes with the Israeli military in the city of Al-Khader, south of Bethlehem, a 14-year-old Palestinian teenager was killed. This was reported on Friday, May 27, by the WAFA news agency.

It is noted that the young man received two gunshot wounds in the neck and back, it was not possible to save him.

According to eyewitnesses, the teenager tried to hide in the garage of one of the private houses, the Israeli security forces opened fire on him.

It is specified that the boy was a ninth grade student.

On May 25, it was reported that a 16-year-old teenager died in the city of Nablus on the West Bank of the Jordan River, and about 75 more people were injured in clashes with the Israeli Armed Forces. According to Ahmed Jibril, director of the Red Crescent Ambulance Service in Nablus, “the occupying forces” attacked the Red Crescent Ambulance Brigade.

Earlier, on May 21, it became known that a 17-year-old boy from the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank was killed, and an 18-year-old teenager was seriously injured.

The conflict between Palestine and Israel escalated in early May 2021. Riots and protests were provoked by the fact that the Israeli authorities began to evict Arab families in East Jerusalem.

The Palestinians, as part of the currently suspended peace process with Israel, are demanding that the future borders between the two sovereign states follow the lines that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War, with a possible exchange of territories.

They hope to create their own state on the West Bank of the Jordan River and in the Gaza Strip, and they want to make East Jerusalem their capital. Israel refuses to return to the 1967 borders and divide Jerusalem, which has already declared its eternal and indivisible capital.
