Russia is not chasing deadlines in the course of a special military operation to protect Donbass. This was stated on May 24 by Secretary of the Security Council (SB) of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.

What is happening in the DPR and LPR, in Ukraine and in the world against its background – in the online report of Izvestia
“We are not chasing deadlines. Nazism must either be 100% eradicated, or it will raise its head in a few years, and in an even uglier form, ”he told Arguments and Facts, answering a question about the concern of some readers of the publication “by delaying the timing of the special operation.”
According to Patrushev, all the goals set by Russian President Vladimir Putin will be achieved.
“It cannot be otherwise, since the truth, including historical truth, is on our side,” the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation emphasized.
Answering a question from journalists about what is meant by the denazification of Ukraine, Patrushev recalled the Potsdam Conference, where the USSR, the USA and Britain signed an agreement on the eradication of German militarism and Nazism.
“Denazification meant a whole range of measures. In addition to punishing Nazi criminals, the laws of the Third Reich were repealed, which legalized discrimination based on race, nationality, language, religion, and political beliefs. Nazi and militaristic doctrines were eliminated from school education. Our country set such goals in 1945, we are setting the same goals now, freeing Ukraine from neo-Nazism,” he explained.
At the same time, the fate of Ukraine will be determined by the people living on its territory, the Secretary of the Security Council noted. According to him, Russia has never controlled the fate of sovereign powers, but, on the contrary, helped them in defending their statehood.
Earlier, on April 12, Putin said that the special operation was going according to plan, and the timing of its completion depended on the intensity of hostilities. He stressed that nothing needs to be hidden from the public.
Prior to that, on March 22, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov assured that from the very beginning no one thought that the special operation would take a couple of days. The Kremlin spokesman also said that it is proceeding strictly in accordance with the plans and goals that were set in advance.
The denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine were announced as one of the goals of the special operation to protect the DPR and LPR, which Moscow launched on February 24.
