Samsung has revealed how much sales of the Galaxy S23 series should grow

The premiere of the Samsung Galaxy S23 flagship trio took place on February 1. The new smartphones mostly offer minor hardware upgrades, but the South Korean company has high hopes for the new smartphones, especially since the Ultra version flaunts a 200-megapixel primary camera.

The head of Samsung’s mobile division told Korean reporters that the company expects a 10 percent increase in sales of the Samsung Galaxy S23 series compared to last year’s Galaxy S22 lineup. The company expects the same from future sophisticated devices that will see the light of day later this year.

“We expect global year-over-year sales growth for both the Galaxy S series and the premium lineup to reach double-digits year-over-year. The presented Samsung Galaxy S23 series faces a difficult task – to increase sales (compared to the previous generation) by more than 10%,” said the Samsung top manager.

The head of Samsung’s mobile business said that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will account for more than 50% of the total sales of the Galaxy S23 series. For comparison, the share of Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in the total volume of sales of the Galaxy S22 family exceeded 40%.

By the way, analysts expect that in 2023 the global smartphone market will shrink significantly. Therefore, Samsung’s strategy may be quite logical – by focusing on the oldest model in the family with high margins, the company will be able to achieve its financial goals, even if smartphone sales decline across the board.
