Doctors in the Netherlands have confirmed six cases of monkeypox infection.
This is reported by NOS with reference to the National Institute of Health of the Netherlands (RIVM), Ukrinform reports.
“To date, six human cases of monkeypox have been reported in the Netherlands,” the institution said in a statement.

It is noted that experts continue to study new samples in order to identify new cases as quickly as possible and stop the spread of the virus. The RIVM clarifies that the virus can enter the body through the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose or eyes, as well as through open wounds.
As Ukrinform reported, the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control considers the risk of large-scale spread of monkeypox among humans to be low.
