A Reddit user under the nickname DullKn1fe shared the results of an Internet speed test provided by SpaceX. It turns out that under favorable conditions, satellite Internet from Ilona Maska allows you to download huge files in minutes.
The author of the screenshot lives in the countryside of Wisconsin, located in the northeastern United States. He managed to record a download speed of 301 Mbps, which is faster than many on the wired Internet. However, not everything is so rosy, as the return was only 20.5 Mbps, and the delay is 72 milliseconds, which is quite a lot by the standards of wired connection.

Prior to that, another equally impressive result was recorded in March – 299 Mbps. At the same time, sometimes this figure can drop to about 1 Mbps. According to Ookla, in the fourth quarter of 2021, the average download speed of Starlink in the United States was 105 Mbps. And in May, a German user said he managed to get an impressive 560 Mbps via satellite.
It is worth noting that at the beginning of the year the premium tariff Starlink was launched, which promises a speed of about 150-500 Mbps for $ 500 per month.
