The number of those killed in the shelling of the city of Stakhanov by Ukrainian militants has increased to six. This was announced on Wednesday, June 15, by the Lugansk Information Center (LIC) agency, citing the city administration.
“As a result of the shelling, according to preliminary information, three civilians died on the spot, among them a 17-year-old guy. Three more died in the hospital, ”the message says.
On Wednesday evening, the Kyiv security forces fired at Stakhanov and Krinichnoye of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) from the installation of the Uragan multiple launch rocket system. Later it became known that the teenager, who was wounded during the shelling of Stakhanov, died in the hospital.
Also on Wednesday, Izvestia’s war correspondent Alexei Poltoranin filmed the work of the air defense (air defense) near Stakhanov. On the presented frames, traces of the use of air defense systems are visible in the sky.
This month, Stakhanov came under fire several times from Ukrainian militants. So, on June 12, as a result of the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a kindergarten, 11 multi-apartment residential buildings and seven private housing constructions were damaged.
Prior to this, the city was shelled on June 9th. Medical and pedagogical colleges with a hostel, an industrial and economic technical school, the Pobeda stadium, the Gornyak city park and the central city hospital were damaged. The head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, said that the death toll then amounted to 13 people.
Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special operation to protect Donbass. The key goals of the Russian military are the denazification and demilitarization of the Kyiv regime. This is necessary to ensure the security of the Russian state and people. Moscow also emphasized that strikes were carried out only on military infrastructure.
The situation in the region escalated in mid-February due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2014, the Ukrainian authorities have been fighting against the inhabitants of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’état in Ukraine.
