The Russian Ministry of Defense on Friday, May 27, published footage of combat duty by the crews of the Nebo-T radar stations (RLS) during the special operation of the Russian Federation to protect Donbass.
The operators of the radar complex go on duty in shifts. Work in the hardware goes around the clock. The main task of specialists is to fix air targets, and then transmit information to anti-aircraft missile forces and aviation.
The Nebo-T complex is as sensitive as possible. It works on all frequency ranges and produces a huge amount of data. The system is set up according to the “friend or foe” principle: during the takeoff of Russian cars, green dots appear on the monitors. Third party objects are displayed in red. According to the coordinates from the radar, air defense crews launch different-caliber projectiles.

Airborne radar reconnaissance requires the utmost concentration of attention. There are many different objects in the sky – it is not so easy to recognize an enemy drone among birds, clouds and weather balloons, but the fighters do their job. From time to time, interference occurs in the air due to the actions of the enemy. Scouts are already used to this and can neutralize the problem as soon as possible.
“All personnel are trained and act in a coordinated manner. More than half of the personnel performed tasks in the Syrian Arab Republic. The guys are in a fighting mood. The team is friendly. They show their skill in carrying out the assigned tasks, ”said the commander of the radar company Alexander.

Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass on February 24. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified, the special operation has two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. According to him, both of these aspects pose a threat to the Russian state and people.
The operation began against the backdrop of the situation in the Donbass that worsened in mid-February. The authorities of the DPR and LPR reported increased shelling by Ukrainian troops, announced the evacuation of civilians in the Russian Federation and asked for recognition of independence. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
