Swedish company Candela, which specializes in the production of electric hydrofoils, has introduced a new electric device called Candela P-8 Voyager. The P-8 Voyager is a small hydrofoil based on the same platform as the C-8. But in this case the difference is that the novelty has an electric power plant.
The ship is capable of developing a cruising speed of 20 knots at a maximum of 30 knots. It can accommodate six passengers in addition to the crew. The length of the vessel reaches 8.5 meters. The range is claimed to be up to 93 km, which, according to the manufacturer, is much more than most other electric boats. By the way, this range is promised at a speed of 22 knots, that is, when cruising it should be even a little more.
The company pays special attention to its revolutionary engines, low noise, reliability and other features, but it’s all typical of the C-8 model, on the basis of which the novelty was made. The cost of the P-8 Voyager starts at 450,000 euros.
