Correspondents of “Izvestia” on Sunday, May 29, visited the area of the building of the former coking plant in Donetsk and showed the consequences of its shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The footage shows that Ukrainian shells are lying near the plant building.
According to a local resident, smoke was first seen from the plant, resembling a small fire. Breaks were also heard. The man noted that fire trucks of the Ministry of Emergency Situations then drove by. Everything lasted about 30-40 minutes, and then it calmed down.
On the eve it was reported that the former building of the coking plant was damaged during shelling in the Kirovsky district of Donetsk.
On the same day, it became known that Ukrainian troops shelled four settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), including Donetsk, in 15 minutes.
As specified, the villages of Yelenovka and Ozeryanovka, the city of Yasinovataya, and Donetsk came under shelling. In total, 22 122 mm caliber shells and 10 rockets from the BM-21 Grad were fired.
Earlier, the DPR representative office in the JCCC reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired on Yasinovataya from Gradov also on that day at 18:16, 13:50 and 9:45. In total, 14 missiles were fired during these three times.

The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics announced the evacuation of residents to Russia and turned to Moscow for help.
