The US also plans to send Excalibur guided missiles as part of an upcoming tranche sometime in the future.
It is clarified that these shells were not included in the current “round” of military assistance.
On the same day, US President Joe Biden signed a memorandum on the allocation of a new $775 million military aid package to Ukraine.
According to a senior US Department of Defense official, the additional military assistance package will include 1,500 TOW anti-tank missiles and 100 Javelin systems, HARM high-speed anti-radar missiles. They also intend to transfer NASAMS air defense systems within 2-3 months.
