Most Ukrainians consider the protection of their lives to be a fundamental right guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine.
58% of Ukrainians consider it the most important. These are the results of a poll conducted by the sociological group “Rating” in May.
Among other rights also highlighted:
1. property rights – 21%;
2. the right to travel – 14%;
3. judicial protection – 13%;
4. the right to education – 11%;
5. for a safe environment – 8%;
6. freedom of religion – 7%;
7. for entrepreneurial activity – 6%.
Also, 90% of respondents believe that freedom is one of the main values of Ukrainians.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the issues of security of life (52%) and protection against terrorism and military threats (52%) have become more important among Ukrainians. These factors top the ranking of components in the field of personal security.
At the same time, social protection is also important for Ukrainians – for 20% of respondents.
According to respondents, the fight against corruption and smuggling is also an important component of security (18%).
Also, some Ukrainians support health protection – 17%, human rights protection – 13%, while the environment is important for only 5% of respondents.
The poll was conducted on May 16, 2022.
It was attended by 1,000 respondents aged 18 and older in all oblasts, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas.
