Despite the fact that Poland has accepted a record number of refugees from Ukraine, there is a shortage of employees. And because of this, Polish employers are forced to raise salaries. Which, in turn, will affect the prices of foodstuffs that have already increased in Poland due to record inflation. About it reports Rzeczpospolita.
Catering employers in despair. We raise the rates, and there are no way to work, – said the Polish edition of Jacek Chauderna, the restaurateur and the president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce of Gastronomists. – Companies fill some of the vacancies with refugees from Ukraine, but there is a ignorance of the Polish language. According to OLX PRACA, the share of gastronomy accounts for most (almost a fifth of) seasonal vacancies published there in May. Over the past three months, more than 53.3 thousand offers for seasonal and temporary employees have appeared. This is 16 percent more than the same period of 2021. ”
