Over the past few years, smartphone cameras have made a huge breakthrough as pictures. But despite this, they still do not reach the level of SLR cameras.
Teroshi Shimizu, President and CEO of Sony Semiconductor, spoke about when the situation will change radically. According to the expert, in 2024 smartphones will surpass professional digital SLR cameras in terms of shooting quality.
This will be achieved by combining a larger aperture, a new pixel structure and II technology. At the same time, Shimizu said that by about 2030, at the current pace of progress, smartphones will “overpower” the exclusive functions of modern professional cameras. These include, for example, 8K shooting and high-speed burst shooting.
