Streaming giant Netflix finally left the Russian market due to the war in Ukraine unleashed by the Russian Federation. Russian subscribers have lost access to the platform, a spokesman for the company told AFP.

The Netflix website and apps have not been available since Friday, May 27th. And a Netflix spokesperson confirmed that subscribers no longer have access to the content.
“This is the end of the exit from the Russian market,” which the company announced back in March, a Netflix spokesman told AFP. The company waited until the end of the current billing cycle before disconnecting customers, he said.

Netflix is the world’s leading streaming platform with 221.8 million subscribers at the end of 2021, but in Russia it was a minor player.
In an April letter to shareholders, the company said it had lost 700,000 paid users as a result of leaving Russia.
