The company “SNPS-Actobemunaigaz” from Kazakhstan decided to separate its oil from the Russian. The reason is “recent significant geopolitical changes.” Thus, the company is trying to “avoid the negative impact of changes in Kazakhstani oil export through Russian ports.” This is stated in the report of Reuters.
Since June, the Kazakh mixture is called Kebco (Kazakhstan Export Blend Crude Oil, Kazakhstani export mixture of raw oil).
Previously, oil produced in Kazakhstan was mixed with the Russian to obtain standardized export varieties – the Russian export mixture of raw oil (Rebco/Urals) and Siberian Light.
