Apple has patented a prototype watch with a built-in camera. This was reported by Patently Apple.
The invention of the American company was discovered in the database of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Judging by the images, the corporation’s engineers installed the camera in the crown of the Apple Watch. According to the description, this option can be used to take photos and videos directly from the user’s wrist.
The documents state that for photography, the user can unfold the clock so that the crown with the camera is aimed at the object. Also, thanks to a special interface, the Apple Watch can be removed from the site and taken in the free hand. To get better photos, the gadget has a built-in LED that acts as a flash.
According to journalists, Apple has previously patented a similar invention. In 2019, the company registered a watch strap in which the camera was installed. The Apple Watch, which is mass-produced, does not use a camera.
