The auto-tractor spare parts plant in Melitopol is resuming its work, Izvestia correspondent Mary Badunts was convinced.
According to her, since 2014 the plant has not exported products to the Russian market. For eight years, the company has lost profit twice. To stay afloat, the enterprise was redesigned into a defense one.
She clarified that for the past year, components for anti-aircraft installations and mortars of various calibers have been produced here. After demilitarization, the plant returned to a peaceful track.
For the first time in three months, the machines were fully operational at the plant. It manufactures parts for tractors, combines, cars. Workers, despite the threats of previous owners, are slowly returning to their jobs, Badunts said.

“This [transformation into a defense enterprise] was imposed by the leadership. We followed their orders. Many orders were lost for serial parts due to orders for military products. That is, our priority was military products. Agriculture was receding into the background, ”said Alexander Dyunin, chief technologist of the autotractor plant.
Now the priorities have changed. Agriculture for the Zaporozhye region is one of the main vectors of development. The climate is perfect for growing cereals, sunflowers, vegetables and gourds, the correspondent added. Farmers have everything they need to work: it remains to establish exports.
“Donetsk has always been our main sales outlet. Donetsk region. We waxed there, and potatoes, and cucumbers, and tomatoes, dill, parsley. Now our entrepreneurs are trying to go towards the Crimea, Moscow. towards Peter. Establish old connections and, of course, sell our products, ”shared his plans, acting. While supplies are being established, farmers are worried about the harvest. Most products are perishable: they may simply not be delivered to the point of sale.
