Britain’s Got Talent’s ‘new Paul Potts’ wowed judges and audiences with his incredible vocals this weekend, but he’s almost auditioned ahead of the 2022 series
Britain’s Got Talent celebrity Maxwell Thorpe has revealed he almost auditioned for the ITV series ahead of the 2022 series, but he’s changed his mind.
The hopeful BGT, dubbed the “new Paul Potts,” wowed the judges, audience and home viewers on Saturday’s episode with his stunning vocals.
Stepping onto the stage, the shy contestant soon surprised everyone with his loud and powerful voice after years of lip-syncing and performing in front of everyone, but never actually stepped onto the stage.
Speaking on Lorraine on Monday, Maxwell has now confessed his horror over his audition, the same horrors that have deterred him in the past.
Hope has revealed how he almost auditioned for the ITV talent show in the past, and was indeed prepared to audition before this year but he changed his mind and didn’t attend.
Speaking to host Lorraine Kelly, he revealed now is his time to shine while not giving away if he makes it to the semifinals or not.
Lorraine said: “I can’t believe it took so long to discover you, for how many years have you been a busker?” to which he replied, “It would be 10.”
She continued: “I can’t believe no one has said come, but there have been some times where it almost didn’t, but do you feel like this is the right time for you, are you ready for this? ?”
Maxwell told her, “Yes absolutely, definitely, yes. I think my priorities have changed, my perspective has changed, and I’m terrified of being on the show.
“I’m really, really scared, one time I’m going to come and then I can’t imagine being on the other side of the screen with Ant and Dec, and I just think you know, I’ll stay here , I. I’ll see that.”
Lorraine told him: “But this year is the right time, already the right time.”
