In the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic of Ison, Shawn Pinar, 5, and Andrew Hill, 5, pro-Russians are set to face trial for fear of a show trial.
Two British “mercenaries” fighting for Ukraine have said today that they could face the death penalty at the hands of pro-Putin separatists.
Shawn Pinar, aged Ison, and Andrew Hill, aged 5, are due to stand trial in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
It is feared that pro-Russians are planning to hold a ceremony in Britain to offer maximum concessions.
Local law enforcement officials say the maximum penalty for conviction is the death penalty সম্ভবত possibly through gunfights জন্য for conducting “war campaigns” against pro-Putin territory.
British “mercenary” Aiden Aslin, 28, who was arrested by pro-Russian forces, was not included in the list of suspects.
Attorney General Officer Victor Gavrilov said in a video: “According to the detailed testimony of British citizens Shawn Piner and Andrew Hill, DPR attorney general’s office officials have received ….
“Your involvement in the illegal work commission has been established.
“A criminal case has been registered against the tenants involved in creating and conducting hostilities against the DPR.
“The case file was presented to the court for trial.
“It allows the imposition of the death penalty (death penalty) on defendants on the condition of war.”
He failed to mention Aslin, who had been arrested earlier and warned that the maximum penalty was death.
Pinar was exhausted in April because he admitted he understood the allegations against him.
But like Pinar, he was not seen to admit his guilt.
Bearded Hill, a father of four in Plymouth, admitted in a video released to pro-Putin media earlier this month that he was “unknowingly” involved in war crimes – and appealed for flexibility.
As his British partner Candice Morgan desperately tried to bring him back to the country, his confession seemed to be a reflection of the Russian playbook and he seemed to have compromised with other foreign fighters.
He said they shot [civilians] and wounded them indiscriminately.
“You have stolen valuable things from these people without any shame.
“The mercenaries also tortured Russian soldiers and Russian warlords.
“They cut off their fingers and tortured them.
“Prisoners were severely beaten and deprived of food and drink.
“I’ve never seen such cruelty on this scale before.”
His words matched the Russian propaganda version of the war, although until last week he was seen fighting for the Ukrainian cause.
“There are supporters of neo-Nazi and nationalist ideologies in this camp,” he said.
“They are proud of the swastika tattoo and the double S symbol. It was weird.
“Unfortunately, I found myself in this horrible man and unknowingly involved in this war crime.
“I understand that everything has gone wrong and I expect generosity from the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
Aslin said: “I fully understand what allegations are being made against me and I totally agree with that, with the exception of the killing of civilians – I do not agree with that.”
Earlier this month, Pinar and Aslin were told by prosecutor Andrei Spivak that they had “committed a series of crimes against civilians in the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
“The maximum penalty for these crimes is death.”
The British fought in Mariupol, where they were captured by Russian forces.
