“The government allocates 563 million hryvnias ($15.2 million) to eight regions for the purchase of firewood and its free distribution to the population in the front-line territories. We also approve the procedure for the distribution and delivery of this firewood to people, ”he wrote in his Telegram channel.
It is noted that the Ukrainian railway company will produce 6,000 stoves and additionally prepare 6,000 cubic meters of firewood.
Earlier, on October 1, the head of Naftogaz Ukrainy, Yuriy Vitrenko, proposed to abandon gas and switch to heating with garbage and biomass. According to the head of Naftogaz, it is economically more profitable for Ukraine to launch such projects than to import gas even for this heating season.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on August 25 noted that the coming winter would be the most difficult for the country due to high gas prices. At that time, the cost of gas in Europe rose above $3,300 per 1,000 cubic meters. m.
In addition, Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Kucherenko expressed the opinion in early September that the country would not be able to accumulate the planned volume of gas by winter – 19 billion cubic meters. m.
