According to reliable insider Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi 13 series smartphones may get a ceramic case. It is supposed to be produced by BYD.
Lixter added that this is just a prototype and it remains to be seen if the final product will actually feature a ceramic back. It was expected that the flagship tuning fork Xiaomi 12S Ultra will receive a ceramic case, but the brand abandoned this idea.
Xiaomi has used ceramic backs for high-end flagships including the MIX 4 and MIX Fold. The ceramic body provides a lightweight form factor. It will be interesting to see the Xiaomi 13 series with this material.
The Xiaomi 13 series is expected to be unveiled at the end of November this year. It will consist of standard and Pro models, codenamed Nuwa and Fuxi, respectively. The first has the model number 2211133C.
It is still quite early for the launch of the Xiaomi 13 series, so we recommend taking this news with a grain of salt. We should hear more about smartphones in the coming months.
