The American streaming platform Netflix has finally stopped working for users from Russia without a VPN. The service stopped working in Russia on the night of May 26-27.
Previously, users from Russia could watch content using VPN only when registering and replenishing the account.
Now the service gives an error in both the application and the web version. The message “Not available” is now displayed on the main page of the site. This suggests that Netflix has begun blocking Russian users by IP.
Officially, the service stopped working in Russia in March. Local users could not register new Netflix accounts or top up their accounts, but they could continue to watch dubbed and subtitled content.
