One teenager died and another 75 Palestinians were injured in battles with the Israeli army

As a result of clashes with the Israeli military in the city of Nablus on the West Bank of the Jordan River, a 16-year-old teenager was killed and about 75 people were injured. This was reported on Wednesday, May 25, by the Palestinian news agency WAFA.

In clashes that began on Tuesday evening, 15 civilians were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets, 42 people were exposed to tear gas and another fell during the clashes, the publication reported.

In addition, it is reported that as a result of the clashes, a 16-year-old teenager was seriously injured in the head. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

Ahmed Jibril, director of the Red Crescent Ambulance Service in Nablus, told WAFA that the “occupying forces” attacked the Red Crescent ambulance team at the scene with gas bombs, causing the team to experience breathing difficulties.

Earlier, on May 21, it was reported about the death of a teenager and the injury of another as a result of clashes in the West Bank. Thus, a 17-year-old boy from the Jenin refugee camp was killed, and an 18-year-old teenager was seriously injured.

On May 11, it became known that Shirin Abu Akle, a journalist and reporter for Qatar’s Al Jazeera TV channel, was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank of the Jordan River. The health ministry said Shirin, who was covering an army raid on a refugee camp in Jenin, died from a gunshot wound to the head. Al Jazeera also added that during the shelling, the journalist was wearing a special vest with the inscription PRESS.

The Palestinians, as part of the currently suspended peace process with Israel, are demanding that the future borders between the two sovereign states follow the lines that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War, with a possible exchange of territories.

They hope to create their own state on the West Bank of the Jordan River and in the Gaza Strip, and they want to make East Jerusalem their capital. Israel refuses to return to the 1967 borders and divide Jerusalem, which has already declared its eternal and indivisible capital.
