The US military is conducting “offensive hacking operations” in support of Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the US Cyber Command, General Paul Nakasone, in an interview with Sky News.
“We have carried out a number of operations of all kinds: offensive, defensive, informational,” the commander of the US cyber forces said.
It is emphasized that he declined to elaborate on the details of the cyberattacks, but emphasized that they took place legally in accordance with Pentagon policy and civilian oversight.
Nakasone says he calculates every day the possibility of a Russian cyber attack on the United States, so being proactive in cyberspace to identify Russian hackers and their intentions is an effective defense for the United States and allies.
