It would seem that the ability to edit your messages is a basic feature that should be in any messenger that claims to be convenient. However, the developers of WhatsApp with perseverance worthy of better use, refused to add it.
Rumors that the feature is about to appear have been circulating since 2017. But better late than never – in five years, WhatsApp will finally allow users to edit text messages.
At least, this was reported by the WABetaInfo portal with reference to the test version of WhatsApp. And even provides a screenshot, which in general can be understood how the function will work. The user selects the message by long pressing and in the context menu selects the item to edit, make the necessary edits and resend. In general, nothing that we would not see in other messengers.
It is also known that the feature will be available to all versions of WhatsApp, including Android, iOS and PC. Unfortunately, it is not yet known whether there will be additional conditions for editing – for example, the ability to edit messages no more than 4 hours after sending. There are no such restrictions in the test version of WhatsApp, but this does not mean that they will not appear when everyone receives the update.
