Former OnePlus founder Carl Paye has announced the launch of his London-based smartphone, Nothing. Nothing Phone (1) will be shown on June 12 during the online event Return to Instinct, according to the company’s Twitter page.

What happened

The British company Nothing is finally ready to present its first smartphone, which it announced in the spring. Nothing Phone (1) – this is the name of the gadget, which, according to the developers, should become a real competitor to Apple’s iPhone. The smartphone will run on its own operating system Nothing OS.

The London smartphone will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip. It will have a 6.55-inch OLED display with FullHD + resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. In addition, the feature of Nothing Phone (1) is a glass back cover.

The smartphone battery will have a capacity of 4500 mAh. The gadget will probably support fast and wireless charging. Such a smartphone will cost approximately $ 500.

What is known about Nothing

The London-based company Nothing has been run by Swedish businessman Carl Pay since 2020. In 2013, he co-founded the Chinese electronics manufacturer OnePlus. Nothing is supported by investors such as GV (formerly Google Ventures), Kevin Lynn (co-founder of Twitch) and Steve Huffman (co-founder and CEO of Reddit). The company has already introduced its own operating system Nothing OS and wireless ear headphones (1).
