In the village of Troitskoye, Popasnyansky district, which the forces of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) recently took control of, they found a mock-up of the area, indicating that Ukrainian forces were preparing an offensive.
The presence of the former headquarters of the Ukrainian troops in Troitskoe was reported to the RIA Novosti agency by the soldiers of the sixth motorized rifle Cossack regiment named after Matvey Platov. According to them, a model of the area was found in the former headquarters, on which the positions and places of concentration of Ukrainian equipment are indicated.
“Here is the plan of the city, all settlements. Everything is like on a map, only in real form, ”said one of the fighters.
According to the Lugansk military, the designations on the layout show that Ukrainian troops could prepare for an offensive.
The settlement, located near the administrative border of the LPR and the DPR, recently came under the control of the Lugansk People’s Republic, before that Ukrainian security forces were stationed there for eight years. Now from the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there are abandoned trenches and fortified structures, as well as broken armored vehicles.
Earlier, on May 14, it was reported that on the basis of the radical nationalist battalion “Azov” (against the fighters of which a criminal case was initiated in the Russian Federation) in Mariupol, a detailed plan was discovered for Ukrainian nationalists to go to the border with Russia.
According to the discovered data, the offensive was to begin on March 8.
On May 9, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of Russia to the UN, said that Russian troops during a special operation found documents indicating Kyiv’s plans to strike at Russia from the territory of Ukraine.
In March, Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said that Ukraine was preparing an invasion of the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as Crimea. The supporting documents were obtained during a Russian special operation to protect civilians in Donbass.
On February 24, Russia launched a special operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified then, the special operation has two goals – the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. Moscow also emphasized that it does not hatch plans for the occupation of Ukraine, and strikes are carried out only on the military infrastructure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In mid-February, due to the aggravation of the situation in the Donbass as a result of increased shelling by the Ukrainian military, the DPR and LPR asked Moscow to recognize independence and announced the evacuation of the civilian population to Russia. On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a corresponding decree.
