Later, Russian sapper units began to carry out engineering reconnaissance and demining from explosive objects on the territory of the plant. Specialized armored demining vehicles are involved in work in the most dangerous areas.
On February 24, Russia announced the start of a special operation to protect Donbass. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov clarified, the goals of the special operation include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine. The operation began against the backdrop of the situation in the Donbass that worsened in mid-February.
