In Moscow, a fire that broke out on the territory of the Church of Peter and Paul was extinguished. This was announced on Tuesday, May 25, by the press service of the Moscow Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
The incident occurred earlier that day on the territory of the temple located in Lefortovo, the Zvezda TV channel clarifies. The attic floor of a detached one-story refectory building was on fire.
According to the city news agency “Moskva”, at 21:59 the fire was localized. At 22:58 the fire was extinguished.
Emergency services personnel quickly arrived at the scene.

The Church of Peter and Paul in Lefortovo was built in the 12th century. In 1613 it was consecrated in honor of Nicholas the Wonderworker. Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich Romanov participated in the lighting procedure, Reedus notes.
