The fact is that the social network violated the state law on the confidentiality of biometric information. In particular, it stored biometric data of users without their consent. At the same time, Facebook did not inform users about such innovations.
The company violated the Illinois Biometrics Privacy Act, which came into force in 2008.
This law prohibits income from the collection and use of biometric data.
