Ukraine awards: “Peace Award” presented to Google

A Google trend that is really gratifying: from the first days of the war, Google has been helping Ukraine on the information front. Therefore, it became the first company to receive the Peace Award, introduced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The company was one of the first to impose sanctions on Russia, according to the agency’s website. Already on February 26, Google suspended the monetization of Russian state media around the world, including RT and Sputnik, indefinitely, and then on March 2, YouTube blocked all channels related to all Russian state media in Europe. Google has also expanded cybersecurity for Ukrainian accounts. Project Shield has become very important for our state resources and the media – free unlimited protection against DDoS attacks.
